Wayne Grant, Ph.D, Director of Research and Planning

Wayne Grant is the Director of Research and Planning for the Education Market Platforms Group at Intel Corporation where he leads a team of planners, designers, and human factors engineers to define technology platforms for the education market. Wayne has held various positions in the technology industry as an educational product designer and in education as a scientist, researcher, curriculum designer and teacher. Most recently, Dr. Grant served as Chief Education Officer at PASCO scientific. In that capacity, he set corporate vision for the application of technologies to science teaching and learning. Prior to joining PASCO, Dr. Grant was the President and founder of ImagiWorks, Inc. the first company to bring patented handheld probeware solutions to the education market. Before forming ImagiWorks, he served as the Vice President of Educational Products at Knowledge Revolution, where he led the development of inquiry-oriented science, math and engineering applications designed for the K-12 and higher education markets. Dr. Grant also served as a Principal Scientist at SRI International's Center for Technology in Learning. While at SRI, he led research and development of distributed, multi-user environments designed to support teacher professional growth, and conducted usability studies of wireless, wearable computers for outdoor applications. Dr. Grant also spent eight years as a Senior Scientist with Apple Classrooms of Tomorrow (ACOT), an advanced research and development program at Apple, Inc. While at ACOT, he developed and managed the Situated Technology Research (STR) user study program to study the use of leading-edge educational hardware and software prototypes. Dr. Grant received his Ph.D. from Stanford University.

Russell Beauregard, Ph.D.

Russell Beauregard, Ph.D.

Russell is a social scientist and expert in human-computer interaction, human-centered research, and future usage models with over 18 years of industry and product consulting experience. For the past 10 years at Intel, he has led quantitative and qualitative research methods through ideation, concept testing, and the stages of product development focusing on user experience and product value propositions. His work includes the early research and development of naturalistic user interface concepts and user experience assessment in forward looking interaction models such as touch, voice, gestures, proximity, and augmented reality. For the past 5 years, Russell has focused his efforts on driving new education technologies for 1 to 1 eLearning experiences starting from first hand ethnographic research through to product development, government consulting, and design of technologies that enable future interaction models. He currently manages the design and definition team of Intel Education Solutions, of which the user base has recently grown internationally to over 6 million users. Russell received his B.A. in Psychology from The University of Puget Sound, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Human Factors and Industrial Psychology from Wright State University.
