What am I seeing?

When using Windows 7*, the Unknown Devices in Device Manager can show multiple errors.

Details on the device show ACPI\MSFT0101.

How to fix it.

Intel® NUC Model Solution
D34010WYB, D34010WYK
D54250WYB, D54250WYK
NUC5i3RYH, NUC5i3RYK
NUC5i5RYH, NUC5i5RYK
NUC5i7RYH
NUC5CPYH, NUC5PPYH
NUC5PGYH

This error occurs when you enable the Intel® Platform Trust Technology option on the Security tab in BIOS.

Windows 7 doesn't support this setting, so it can be disabled in the BIOS.

Windows 8.1* and Windows® 10 do support this setting.

NUC5i5MYHE, NUC5i5MYBE
NUC5i3MYHE, NUC5i3MYBE

To fix the Unknown Device error, download and install the Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2* Service Pack 1.

If the error still occurs after installing Service Pack 1, install the Hotfix from KB2920188.

The above update(s) clears the error in Device Manager. If the included TPM needs to be used, the operating system must be updated to Windows 8* or later.
