Steps on how to validate and correct boot priority inside the BIOS as adding a storage device will automatically select both UEFI and Legacy Boot.
When adding a 2.5" SATA SSHD (Solid-State Hybrid Drive) storage device on a NUC, the system will not boot due to a conflict in the boot priority.
When adding a storage device, make sure that only one boot order is selected. It can either be UEFI Boot or Legacy Boot.
To validate, follow the steps below:
- Go to BIOS by pressing F2 during boot time.
- Click Advance
- Go to the Boot menu.
- In the Boot Priority' tab, only select one of the following:
- Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Boot
- Legacy Boot
