Environment

Description

Arria®10 Quartus® design that contains multiple EMIF core IP in the same I/O column will face fitter error if EMIF reset pin sharing design requirement is violated.  

Quartus fitter compilation will display following error message.

Error (14566): The Fitter cannot place 1 periphery component(s) due to conflicts with existing constraints (1 IO_AUX(s))

  

Resolution

To place multiple EMIF IP in the same I/O column, user must ensure that the global reset signals (global_reset_n) for each individual interface all come from the same input pin or signal.
