Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem with Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro software versions 18.1 to 19.1, you may see an error message similar to the following when upgrading your Intel Stratix® 10 L-Tile device design to Intel Quartus Prime Pro software version 19.2 and later.

Error(13114): <signal_name> is a GT channel, and is assigned to location BJ46, which is a non-GT location.

    BD49 BA43 BA47 BB45 AW47 AY45 AY49 AU43 AK49 AL43 AL47 AH45 AJ47 AF45 AF49 AG43  are valid GT channel locations.

Intel Stratix 10 devices only support transceiver GXT channels in transceiver banks 1 and 3 of an L-Tile. Intel Quartus Prime Pro software versions 18.1 to 19.1 erroneously allowed placement of transceiver GXT channels in all transceiver banks of an L-Tile. This problem is fixed in Intel Quartus Prime Pro 19.2 and later, and a valid Fitter error produced if this L-Tile rule is violated.

    Resolution

If you need Stratix 10 transceiver GXT channels in transceiver banks 0 and 2, you can migrate to the pin compatible Intel Stratix 10 H-Tile device variant.

You can refer to the following Intel documentation for correct transceiver placement rules.
