Why does my Intel Agilex® SoC or Intel® Stratix®10 SoC HPS device fail to re-configure from an HPS RSU combined application image, when issuing a reboot command from linux-socfpga?

    Critical Issue

    Description

    Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.1 and later, Intel® Stratix® 10 SoC or Intel Agilex® SoC devices configuring from Intel Stratix 10 or Intel Agilex SoC Hard Processor System (HPS) Remote System Update (RSU) combined application images may encounter a boot failure after a reboot command is issued from linux-socfpga.

    Resolution

    Patch 0.37fw for the Intel Quartus Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.4 is available to fix this problem.

    2. Re-generate RSU application / combined application images using the Intel Quartus Programming File Generator tool (quartus_pfg)

    Note:  A re-compile of your Intel Quartus Prime Pro Design is not required.

    This problem is scheduled to be resolved in a future release of the Intel Quartus Prime Pro Edition Software.
